Ella's Lead - Keepsake Box

These boxes are hand-made by Ben and his dad. They use precise box joints for the ultimate in strength and durability. The lids fit neatly on top of the box and can be placed neatly underneath if you want it left open.

The box pictured is a prototype made from Ash. We are changing the dimensions slightly to fit a USPS Flat Rate Priority Box for affordable shipping. A flat rate box is 11" x 8.5" x 5.5". Our box will be a little bit smaller to allow for bubble wrap. Once we make the final version we will picture it. The construction will be the same, though.

We are offering the box in a whopping 16 different types of wood. These woods are NOT stained. We use a clear semi-gloss oil varnish. For the more exotic woods we sometimes prep with a coat of tung oil followed by the varnish. Our finishes are durable and easy to care for.

Ben and his dad take the raw boards, resaw, plane, and sand them. They then cut the box joints and fit the box together. A lid is made to fit. The whole box is solid wood.

The price of the box is based mostly on the price of the wood. The base price is $33.95. The big increase between different woods is due to the very expensive nature of these woods. They are worth it! You simple cannot take your eyes off of these woods. They are gorgeous! Check the GALLERY!

These boxes are great for storing anything that fits, from collars and leashes, to family keepsakes and heirlooms.

NOTE: The prices will change as wood prices change. Some of these woods can be quite volatile in price. We'll try to keep the price list up-to-date. Lead time is going to be 3-4 weeks. If it will take longer than that, you will be notified.
